A three-day cashless event by The Afropole and partners ( including Circumspecte), the Wax Print Festival features creative, informative and fun experiences geared at new thinking and conversation on the popular wax print and textile industries. The festival is part of the Year of Return activities and features a series of exhibitions which depict the Past, The Present, Intersections and The Future of wax print, highlighting key themes and attributes that reflect African identity, heritage, ancestry and culture.
In addition to an exclusive Africa premier of the Wax Print Film, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in live demos on kente weaving, batiking, and bead-making; sample food from across Ghana; and indulge in music from local artistes like Worlasi, Trigmatic, and Eff the DJ. The Quick Stitch Station will also be available for attendees looking to have some same-day delivery fashion made from their fabrics. Also look out for Circumspecte’s stand and come say hi!
So whether you’re an avid fashionista searching for opportunities and answers, or a curious explorer looking to indulge in a top-notch Year of Return activity, the Wax Print Festival is certainly one you don’t want to miss! And in case they ask, tell them Circumspecte sent you!
