Alewa has all the water you’ll need, with not one, not two, but three days of rhyme and rhythm! Opening day features The Poetry Arena with a must-see duel between poets extraordinaire Percy Osei-Appiah (@Mutombodapoet ) and Kwaku Sonny (@Rhymesonny). On Day 2, treat yourself to a delectable menu of POETential – an all-female lineup of spoken word artistes, including the phenomenal @Poetra_Asantewaa. On the final day, find out what the saying “music is poetry in action” really means at the Alewa Music Edition where as musician-poets and poet-musicians show just how versatile they are.
Alewa is a collective of Art Lovers, Entertainers and Wordsmiths in Action. The Alewa Show is spearheaded by People of Equal Thoughts & Spirit (P.O.E.T.S) and Global Arts and Development Centre (GADEC) with support from the Graft Foundation.
Jemila Abdulai is the creative director, editor and founder of the award-winning website Circumspecte.com. A media and international development professional and economist by training, she combines her business, communications and project management expertise with her strong passion for Africa. Besides writing and reading, she enjoys travel, global cuisine, movies, and good design.
