You didn’t think I’d let the World Cup season start without at least one entry on it, did you? I mean how! Forget the fact that I played football from primary school until high school, Ghana’s Black Stars are playing!!

Anyway, you’re forgiven, and in that spirit, I’ll do you one better ahead the Black Stars’ Group G opener tonight (6pm EST) against the United States: In case you didn’t know, the Official “Unofficial” Black Stars World Cup Song is “Go Go Ghana…GOAL!” by Wiyaala Noella – an exciting, edgy singer-songwriter from Ghana’s Upper West region and 2011 winner of Ghana’s “Stars of the Future” – in her local language Sisala and English.

Noella deserves an entire entry on her own, so I’ll just leave you to check out her song and video for now.  I also found out you can download Go Go Black Stars…GOAL! for FREE on her website in three easy steps. Really like it? Follow her on Twitter, Facebook and check out her other stuff via YouTube and iTunes. You can also watch this interview with Wiyaala by Malaka Grant.

Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, Go Go Ghana…GOAL! Guaranteed to get your feet a-tapping and fingers a-snapping in support of the Black Stars!

Listen, share, and thank us later ;)
